
According to reports by the seismography center affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the quake occurred at 2:02 hours local time (22:32 GMT) with its epicenter being registered at 55.03 degrees longitude and 36.83 degrees latitude and in depth of 10 km underground.
The earthquake has brought no casualties or property damage, a local official, Mohammad Reza Hashemi said.
Iran sits on major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world's most quake-prone countries.
