Shimura made the remarks Saturday in a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Japan Morteza Rahmani Movahed.
He expressed Tokyo's willingness to cooperate with Tehran to promote tourist exchange between the two countries.
He hailed holding Iran tourism exhibition in Tokyo, saying most of the Japanese know Yazd City as a cultural heritage.
Introducing Iran's attractions to the Japanese people is a suitable opportunity, Shimura said adding that Japanese agencies and media can participate in this exhibition.
Iran's infrastructures are effective in encouraging Japanese tourists to visit Iran, he noted.
Meanwhile, Rahmani Movahed referred to Iran's various tourism capacities, saying the country has attractions for any tastes.
He also expressed hope for boosting foreign tours to Iran and to take advantage of Japan's experiences in this field.
