The SUN was set up in Hankuk Seoul University of Foreign Studies of South Korea in 2015, aiming at developing the scientific and cultural ties between countries on the Silk Road, promoting peace and friendship and reviving common national traditions and 78 universities and institutes of education and research are members of the network.
Three universities of Isfahan, Allameh Tabataba'i University and Imam Khomeini International University are among the members of this network.
Director of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation of the University of Isfahan Seyyed Kamil Tayyebi added on Tuesday that the University of Isfahan intends to expand its cooperation with the Silk-Road Universities Network in the fields of science and culture in order to internationalize its activities.
The official stated that the network of universities of the Silk Road will support research activities, conferences, exchange of students and professors and cultural competitions, adding, 'The ground for further cooperation in the economic, artistic, historical and health sectors with this network is paved for universities in our country.”
Pointing to the fact that the University of Isfahan started to cooperate and collaborate with the network of Silk Roads universities over the past three years, Tayyebi said, 'The university is trying to increase the role and participation of the network in the holding of scientific economic and engineering meetings.'
He called the International Conference on Regional Economics as one of these actions, adding that it is scheduled to be held next year in collaboration with the SUN and the ECO at the University of Isfahan.
