Increasing scientific and cultural transactions among countries has turned out to be an undeniable necessity, Hashemi said addressing meetings with a number of participants held on the sidelines of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference.
Asian countries as novel powers in the world should move forward in cultural and media fields at the same time with economic ones, he added.
Expressing IRNA’s readiness for promoting ties with prestigious media in the world, Hashemi said the common fate of the Asian societies makes Asian media to boost bilateral and multilateral ties and to make themselves ready for fighting Western media attack.
During his meetings with managing director of Malaysia national news agency, deputy head of China international radio, deputy head of Armenia media holding, Secretary General of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and head of Center for China and Globalization, Hshemi referred to the importance of developing political, cultural, economic and social cooperation among Asian states.
The IRNA chief has attended the event at the official invitation of his Chinese counterpart.
Over 2,000 political, economic, media and cultural personalities have attended the event in southern Chinese city of Boao.
BFA is one of the important conferences being held annually with participation of representatives of Asian and world countries.
Established in 2001, Boao Forum for Asia is the most important economic conference in Asia.
The main aim behind establishment of BFA, of which Iran is one of the founders, is development of economic cooperation and promotion of scientific and technical relations among countries in Asia-Pacific region.
Hashemi also held talks with managing director of HTV Vietnam, managing director of Sri Lanka media cooperation organization, CCTV managing director, manager of Radio Pakistan, chief editor of the China Times.
