IRNA chief stresses cooperation with Syrian media

'IRNA is ready to further develop cooperation and engagement with the Syrian media,' Managing-Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Zia Hashemi said during a phone conversation with Managing-Director of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) Abdolrahim Ahmad.

He congratulated the Syrian government and people's victories over terrorism and the country's National Day.

IRNA chief called for broadening of cooperation with the Syrian media at both bilateral and regional levels, and noted that the resistance front will continue siding with the Syrian people and government till complete victory over terrorism.

In the meantime, SANA chief, for his part, welcomed the expansion of cooperation with IRNA, and thanked the Islamic Republic's support for the Syrian nation.

Iran and Syria share lots of commonalities and the two countries' media, including IRNA and SANA, have an important role in boosting the ties.

During the meeting, IRNA and SANA chiefs agreed to exchange media delegations and continue consultations.
