“We have very good capabilities in the fields of engineering and healthcare and currently prepared to build several field hospitals,” he said.
Despite the scale of the crisis, Iran has managed to control the situation well, al-Muhandis said.
“We deemed it our duty to help Iran in the current crisis, as dear people of Khuzestan helped us very much,” he said.
“We owe victories against Daesh to the efforts of the Iranian nation and martyrs of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and Air Force,” he said.
The fifth consignment of relief aid from Iraq arrived in Iran via Shalamcheh border on Sunday.
The Iraq's aid convoy included 26 trucks of engineering equipment, six ambulances as well as 20 trucks of medical and food supplies.
Khuzestan was hit by floods due to heavy rains over the past few days. Flooding has made thousands of people homeless.
