Iran’s short film wins Special Jury Prize in Kosovo

Directed by Mirabbas Khosravinejad, the 12-minute short film narrates the story of a young woman whose husband has recently passed away. She lives with her two kids in a village, and protects a herd of sheep against attacks by thieves at night, ifilmtv.ir wrote.

The Goddess on the Throne is an International annual film festival founded in 2002 as the first film festival in Kosovo by Besim Ajeti and being held in Fushe Kosova Railway Station in Kosovo. In this event, films are screened on moving trains running from one city to another. The event was held from August 23-27 in Kosovo.

The event aims to represent and promote Kosovo’s cinematography worldwide by creating and maintaining contacts with filmmakers from around the globe.

The Iranian short has earlier won the Best Short award at the Fifth FRESCO International Festival in Armenia; Best Narrative Short award at the First Astoria NY Film Festival in New York; and an Honorable Mention at the June edition of Independent Shorts Awards (ISA) in California.
