Pateh is an Iranian traditional needlework folk art. It originated in and is largely associated with Kerman province, where it is produced by women.
A wide piece of wool fabric (ariz) is needleworked with colored thread.
Speaking to IRNA on Sunday, Hamid Mortazavi said that Shah Nematollah Vali Shrine is one of the historical attractions of Mahan City which is visited by tourists during Nowruz.
He added that over 150 prestigious and valuable works namely the most unique Pateh in the world are kept in this place.
This Pateh is an exceptional work and an art works which has been made by eight young girls during 16 years, Mortazavi noted.
He went on to say that some Patehs belonging to Qajar Dynasty and Early Quranic manuscripts era which were granted are among works kept in this museum.
The Shah Nematollah Vali Shrine is a historical complex, located in Mahan, Iran, which contains the mausoleum of Shah Nematollah Vali, the renowned Iranian mystic and poet.
Shah Nematollah Vali died in 1431 aged over 100. In 1436 a shrine was erected in his honor and became a pilgrimage site; with the attention of successive rulers contributing various additions over the centuries.
