Iranians celebrate New Year in Oslo

Staff of Iranian embassy and consular section and other diplomatic officials attended the ceremony.

Iran's envoy to Norway Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh congratulated the New Year and elaborated on the cultural and historical characteristics of Norouz.

He also invited Iranian residents in Norway to cooperate in economic, scientific and cultural fields.

Norouz is celebrated as the first day of the Persian calendar year (March 21). The tradition originating from the ancient Iran is also celebrated in some other countries.

Senior officials from many countries, as well as resident ambassadors in Iran, have so far expressed congratulations to the government and people of Iran on the New Year.
