Iranian media welcomed in Azerbaijan: Baku

'The media could play an important role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries,' Hajiyev said during an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

'Presence of the Iranian media in Azerbaijan provides the country with an ample opportunity and Baku hopes they play an effective role in reflecting realities in the country, including those related to the dispute in Nagorno-Karabakh, both across the region and world,' he said.

The Azeri foreign ministry official also said that the Republic of Azerbaijan and Iran as two brotherly and friendly nations have many historical and cultural commonalities.

Hajiyev added that the media in the two countries could carry out a big responsibility in solidifying bilateral ties.
