'Mandwa Film Club' organized the film screening at 'Pakistan National Institute for Folk and Traditional Heritage' (Lok Virsa) Library in Islamabad.
A good number of people of different age groups watched the movie with great interest. The audience appreciated the quality of the movie, terming it a masterpiece. They asked for more Iranian films to be screened in Pakistan.
Bacheha-Ye aseman (original title) is the story of a boy who loses his sister’s pair of shoes, and goes on a series of adventures in order to find them. When he can’t, he tries a new way to “win” a new pair for his sister.
‘Children of Heaven’ premiered in February 1997 at the Tehran Fajr Film Festival and was awarded several national film awards. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1998.
Earlier talking to IRNA, Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) Film Club Coordinator Aijaz Gul said that Iranian cinema has been one of the main enthralling and appealing cinema industry in the world and has gained special status among the world’s cinema industry with its unique and innovative film directing techniques.
He said that Iranian films are regularly shown in different Pakistani cities in which people show keen interest. Aijaz Gul said that ‘Children of Heaven’ is one of his favorite Iranian films.
