
Naser Kanani made the remarks while addressing a ceremony in the 50th Cairo International Book Fair.
He pointed to the pioneering role of Iran and Egypt in publication of books and said the elites in both countries were highly interested in reading books and learning languages of Persian and Arabic in both countries.
He further elaborated on the numerous civilian, cultural and cultural common points Iran and Egypt shared.
The official also underlined the need for strengthening the relationship between Iranian and Egyptian publishers and said their participation at the international book fairs in Tehran and Cairo could serve as platform for development of cultural and scientific relations and expanding bilateral cooperation.
The 50th Cairo Book Fair opened on Tuesday January 22, by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’ attendance. It officially began work on January 23 by hosting visitors and experts from around the world on February 5th.
