Iran, Ukraine keen on promoting media ties

During the meeting, in addition to discussing mutual cooperation in the field of media diplomacy and exchanging media delegations, both officials also underlined the need for further proximity between the two countries.

The Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine was set up in 2015 with an aim of monitoring developments and reflecting the news on troubled regions in Ukraine such as Crimea .

Ukraine is the largest European state after Russia with a population of 40 million. Ukraine is currently in a territorial dispute with Russia over the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014 but which Ukraine and most of the international community recognize as part of Ukraine.
