Reza Massaeli, advisor to Iran's minister of health told IRNA that the regulation has been announced to the manufacturers and all of them are obliged to comply with the EU standards from now on.
This calendar year (beginning on March 21) will bring about a profound development for the quality control system of medical equipment as it has been put on the agenda, he said.
The measure is aimed at promoting quality of medical devices and boosting the exports of Iran's products, the officials said.
Some 24 million dollars worth of medical equipment were exported by Iran last year, said Massaeli, adding that a 240-million-dollar target has been set for the sector.
