Iranian Space Research Center on Sunday hosted the opening ceremony of the fourth specialized science and technology summit, a ceremony in which a short animation was screened and for the first time presented information on the future design of airship by the center.
The short animation featured a large four-engined airborne vessel, its electric engine powered by solar-powered batteries. As shown in the video, the airship will be semi-automatic, in other words, with the exception of the landing and take-off process, the remaining flight stages will be done by automated pilot vie pre-defined maps.
The project was designed by Space Systems Research Institute of Space Research Center in the form of a 10-year plan. The program, which has already been completed in terms of its conceptual design phase and will be followed by further phases of design and development.
