Iran successful in fighting malaria: WHO

Iran could limit the number of malaria infections to 75 by planning and implementing the plans, said Pedro Alonso.

He said it is expected that the number reaches zero in three years.

Saying that Iran is among the 20 most successful countries in fighting malaria, he said the health ministers of all countries in the world decided in a meeting to eradicate malaria by 2030.

About 200 million people get infected by malaria each year, from whom 500 thousand lose their lives.
