Iran ready to boost cultural ties with China: Cultural official

'Iran and China by developing their political and economic relations, should embark on enhancing cultural relations as well,' Almasieh said on Tuesday at the eighth annual meeting of the Iran-China Friendship Society in Beijing.

The two nations should not restrict their cultural ties only to festivals and they should try to enhance the level of their cultural engagements, he said.

The Iranian cultural attaché to the China also praised as the role played by the Iran-China Friendship Society to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

Despite their consultative nature, the friendship societies could play a vital role in boosting ties between nations, especially when they are attended by high-ranking officials from the two sides.
