Iran, Germany universities to cooperate in research

'A meeting was held in the Persian Gulf University, October 13-16, with the presence of researchers and professors of Institute of Energy Economics and Rational Energy Use (IER) of University of Stuttgart, Sharif University of Technology of Tehran, and the Persian Gulf University of Bushehr,' said Rohollah Fatehi.

'Such meetings are held with the support of Federal Ministry of Education and Research as a gateway to joint cooperation of the two Iranian and German universities to implement the plan 'innovation for sustainability of energy in Iran'.

He said that the plan contains seven fields: electronic transportation, industry, renewable energies, green island, economy and Iranian energy network.

Fatehi said that the collaborations kicked off after signing an agreement between Gas and Oil Research Center of Persian Gulf University and IER.

Exchanging instructors and students and holding specialized meetings are a part of the agreement.

Persian Gulf University in based in Busher, southern Iran. It has about 7,000 undergraduate, graduate and PhD students. The university has been selected by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as a pilot for the 'entrepreneurial university' project.
