Iran calls for trilateral meeting with Turkish, Azeri border guards

Holding a trilateral meeting among the border guards of Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan Republic can help promote cooperation in the border areas, Brigadier General Qasem Rezaei said in a meeting with Turkish Gendarmerie General Commander Arif Cetin.

The Iranian commander described the meetings of Iranian and Turkish border guards as constructive and stressed facilitating the traffic in the three official border crossings of Bazargan in North, Razi in Khoy and Sarv in Orumyieh.

During the meeting, Turkish Gendarmerie general commander for his part referred to the historical and friendly relations between Iran and Turkey and said that due to this friendship, there is maximum security in the two countries' borders.

The Turkish military forces are ready for more cooperation and exchange of information with the Iranian border guards, he added.
