The visit of the high-ranking Bolivian delegation to Tehran would hopefully lead to closer relations between the two countries' armed forces and the two nations as well, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, said in a meeting in the Iranian capital city with Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Bolivia Admiral Yamil Octavio Borda Sosa.

Iran sees Bolivia as a country resisting the US ambitions, General Baqeri said adding Iran respects the Bolivian armed forces which have made a lot of efforts to achieve the independence of that country.

Within coming days, Baqeri said, Admiral Sosa would visit the Ministry of Defense and get acquainted with the potential of the armed forces in developing housing facilities.

Baqeri further hoped that the visit would lead to reaching good mutual agreements.

For his part, the Bolivian commander said the aim of his travel to Iran is to bring the two nations closer.

Admiral Sosa added on behalf of the Bolivian nation and government he was carrying a message of peace and friendship for their Iranian counterparts.

He hoped his Tehran visit would result in some defense agreements between the two countries.
