'The building process of the 600-meter concrete wall will begin the next week,' said Colonel Nozar Moradi.
Saying about 1,800 meters of this wall has already been built, Colonel Moradi added, 'The wall is aimed to prevent seasonal floods which annually damage villages and farms.'
He went on to say that, to decrease the intensity of floods, four danger points of Astarachay River were dredged up in the previous Iranian year (ending on March 20, 2018).
Stemming from Alborz Mountain Range in Iran and ending in the Caspian Sea, Astrachay is a small river that marks part of the border between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic.
