Iran attends Athens Animasyros festival

Animasyros is an international animation festival and forum. Since 2008 the festival takes place in the capital of Cyclades, Hermoupolis of Syros, and includes animation movies screenings, special tributes to international festivals, professional forum with the participation of distinguished Greek and foreign creators and professionals, workshops for students and children, the applied follow-up workshop “making of”, parties and other parallel events.

Over 20 countries presenting about 100 animations attended the event, Vassilis Karamitsanis, President of Animasyros said addressing the opening ceremony of the festival.

Also present in the opening ceremony was Iran's Cultural Attaché to Greece Ali Mohammad Helmi who said animations reinforce youths' creativity and pave the way for respecting humanitarian values and maintaining peace and friendship.

Referring to the good cooperation between Iran and Animasyros festival, Helmi said this was resulted from Tehran and Athens common views on establishing a fair peace in the world and make world nations familiar with the cultures of one another.
