Iran, Algeria vow to expand media cooperation

Hashemi made the remarks in a meeting with Algerian Ambassador to Tehran Abdel Moun'aam Ahriz in Tehran on Tuesday.

Among the important media missions, it can be referred to capacity building for expansion of mutual relations and IRNA is determined to carry out such a grave responsibility with more strength, Hashemi said.

Stability and security of Algeria should be regarded as significant achievements of their government and people that they could safeguard themselves in a troubled region suffering from insecurity and extremism, he said.

Revolutionary sprit of Algerian people helped them conquer all difficulties, he said.

Referring to his recent visit to Algeria and touring the country's media and academic centers, he described the visit as very fruitful that prepared grounds for expansion and consolidation of cultural relations and media cooperation between the two counties more than before.

The Algerian ambassador, for his part, highlighted the achivemnets of both revolutions and said some of the freedom-seeking movements in many African countries have been inspired by the Algerian revolution.

He also expressed the hope that through expansion of media cooperation, grounds for expansion of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries will be more prepared than before.

In the meeting, both sides agreed to broaden the scope of cooperation to help introduce culture, civilization, political, economic, scientific and academic opportunities through setting up cultural and visual exhibitions.
