Iran, Algeria to broaden media cooperation

During the meeting, the two sides underlined more recognition from both nations on various issues and called for expansion of media cooperation between the two sides.

APS director general leading a delegation visited various parts of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and also met and exchange views with IRNA chief Ziya Hashemi.

Grounds for expansion of professional cooperation between the two news agencies are well prepared, said IRNA chief during the meeting.

Expansion of media cooperation will lead to further expansion of cultural cooperation and interaction which bolster cultural diplomacy between the two sides' media, Hashemi said.

Iranian people attach significant respect to Algeria and regard them as a revolutionary country; Hashemi said, adding that the two sides' young generations should understand each other more profoundly.

APS director general, for his part, called for benefiting from IRNA invaluable professional experiences and capabilities.

He expressed the hope that opening of IRNA new bureau in Algiers and exchange of reporters and media persons help broaden cultural affinities between the two sides.
