
Head of Pasteur Institute North Research Center, located in Amol, Mazandaran Province, Mohsen Asouri said, '21 researchers from Iran, Spain, South Africa, Greece, Bangladesh, Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Pakistan, Bhutan, Tunisia and India participate in the workshop.'
Asouri said that the 11-day course is organized by the Pasteur Institute of Iran with the support of the Institut Pasteur in Paris, the Department of Biochemistry, of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the PREDEMICS consortium in collaboration with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC).
He added that the purpose of this course is to gain trust of international organizations to help Iran become a role model of rabies prevention in the region.
Iran has successfully piloted and implemented plans in fighting rabies in Mazandaran Province.
