
At the ceremony on Monday, Iran's Ambassador to Beijing Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh recounted the characteristics of Imam Khomeini's political personality arguing that such qualities made him an influential figure throughout the world.
Strong belief of the Founder of the Islamic Republic in Iran in local capabilities, his trust in the youth and respect for experts' views as well as his comprehensive knowledge of Iranian society and the international community contributed to Imam Khomeini's significant influence both locally and internationally, the senior diplomat said.
"His words were understandable for all groups of people, and they can still be used as a good reference for addressing current challenges," he said.
Imam Khomeini, who led the Islamic Revolution of Iran (1979), passed away in 1989 at the age of 93.
His charismatic character and political approach inspired many leaders and popular uprisings against dictator powers across the world.
