Talking to reporters on Thursday in the southwestern border city, Shahram Maqam added that the wounded have been transported to Valiasr Hospital in Khorramshr and Talqani Hospital in Abadan for treatment.

The injured are in good health conditions and face no special problem, he said. Two other wounded are currently under treatment in Basra Hospital, who will soon be dispatched to Iran.

A bus carrying pilgrims crashed in Tenumeh, wounding seven people who were taken to Iraqi hospitals for treatment, Maqam said.

The annual Arbaeen religious procession is held in the holy shrine of Imam Hossein (AS), third Shia Imam, in Karbala, Iraq.
