Farshchian miniatures to disseminate Iranian art in Astana

The exhibition is a part of cultural events, dated to the 20th anniversary of Astana city. The exhibition is scheduled to open today, inform.kz reported.

Kazakh Culture and Sport Minister Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, counsellor of the Iranian Embassy in Kazakhstan, Iran's Cultural Attaché Masoud Sheikh Zeineddin and MPs are expected to take part in the opening ceremony.

The works of the master of Persian painting and miniatures Farshchian are known worldwide. Farshchian is the founder of his own school in Iranian painting, which adheres to classical form while making use of new techniques to broaden the scope of Iranian painting. Master Farshchian has played a decisive role in introducing Iranian art to the international art scene.

His works have been displayed in galleries and museums around the world such as the British Library, Freer Gallery of Art, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Metropolitan Museum and Harvard University.

He has won numerous national and international awards, including the gold statuette of Italy's Vessillo Europa Delle Arte in 1984 and the gold medal of Belgium's 1958 International Art Festival.
