Explosion in a motel in Qom left 4 dead, 15 injured

Managing Director of Qom Fire Department Abbas Jafari told IRNA on Thursday afternoon that the blast happened at 12:50 in a two-storey motel close to the holy shrine in the city and two boys 10 and 16 were taken alive from debris and rescue teams are working in the place.

Reason for explosion is not clear yet, but possibly it was caused by gas explosion.

Head of Center for medical emergency and incidents management of Qom Mohammad Reza Hassani said at early stage 11 were injured by the explosion, adding that most of the wounded are Iraqi pilgrims.

According to report of an official in Qom Medical Science University named Mohammad Reza Mozzafari the toll of incidents increased to 4 dead and 15 wounded, so far.
