'German Foreign Ministry provides humanitarian assistance to flood victims in Iran. 40 boats and safety equipment will be delivered by #GermanRedCross to #IranianRedCrescent,' Michael Klor Berchtold wrote in his Twitter account on Monday.

Earlier, German envoy in a message sympathized with Iranian flood-stricken people in northern Iran and expressed readiness to help them.

In the meantime, Norwegian Ambassador to Iran Lars Nordrum in a Twitter message praised the efforts made by Iranian Red Crescent Society for rescuing flood-stricken people.

The flash rains began in March 28 in northern provinces of Iran and continued on the following days in other provinces. At least 25 provinces were struggling with floods during the Nowruz holidays that mark the New Year in Iran.

Iranian Armed Forces have been engaged in relief operations upon a call by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Ambassadors of UK, Norway, Austria, the UN Information Center (UNIC) and head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State Pope Francis in separate messages expressed their condolences over the deadly incident.
