Donation boxes in Malaysian university for Iran, Iraq quake survivors

The 7.3-magnitude earthquake on November 12 shook the western Iranian province of Kermanshah and the regions bordering Iraq last week killing at least 437 people and injuring over ten thousands others.

According to unofficial reports, some 31,000 homes have been destryed or damaged in the quake.

Mohammad Ali Sarvqadi, head of students association at University of Sccience, Malaysia, (USM), told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Wednesdday that the boxes are here to collect students' donations for quake-hit regions in Iraq and Iran.

'Students from various countries have participated in the initiative,' he said.

The boxes will remain there for 10 days, and then the Iraqi and Iranian students will submit the donations to the survivors of the quake, according to the Iranian student.
