China, India laud Tehran Book Fair level

Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the 32nd Tehran International Book Fair, Peng Jiangjie, the Vice President of Shanghai Lexicographical Publishing House Zhongxi Book Company said he was astonished by facing large crowds of Iranians visiting China stall.

He added that the visitors were all interested in getting information about China alphabets and also their culture.

Referring to long-standing cultural and economic relations between two countries, Jiangjie said adopting China as the guest of honor indicates the depth of interests between two counties.

He went on to say that having Muslim community in China has made officials to translate book from Persian to Chinese and vice versa.

Meanwhile, the Indian publisher Kamal Ahmad told IRNA that the objective of their publication named National Book Trust is to promote Indian books and culture around the world.

Expressing his honor to be a part of Tehran Book Fair, he said the level of books and also the event was really great.

He also urged Iranian and Indian officials to translate each other's book to increase the knowledge of both countries' people.

The 32nd Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) has kicked off at the center of Tehran in presence of Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Chinese Minister of Culture as well as the Chinese cultural delegation.
