Book, mother of all nations: Iran culture minister

All parts of a nation's culture are rooted in the books, Abbas Salehi said here on Tuesday in a speech addressed to the opening ceremony of the 31st Tehran International Book Fair underway in the Iranian capital.

Talking of Iran's cultural achievements gained after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the minister said that about one million and 230,000 book titles have been generated in the country during the past four decades.

Books are the source of the moves which develop the nations' civilization, the Iranian minister said describing 'book as an immortal bequest.'

The 2018 Tehran International Book Fair started work in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla Prayers Ground on Tuesday hosting 2050 domestic and 132 foreign publishers from Germany, China, Italy, Oman, Hungary, Austria, Russia and Iraq.
