4.9 magnitude quake hits SW Iran

According to the Seismological Center affiliated to the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the epicenter of the quake was registered at 50.47 degrees longitude and 30.73 degrees latitude at the depth of 24 kilometers underground.

The epicenter of the quake was located at 12 km from Dehdasht, 26 km fromf Behbahan and 27 km from Choram.

No casualties or damage to property have been reported yet.

Iran sits over several major faults in the earth's crust and is prone to frequent earthquakes, many of which have been devastating.
