Deputy head of Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) for Relief and Rescue Operations Organization Shahin Fathi told reporters in Khorramabad late on Friday that given the scale of the affected areas and lack of access to the sites, 40 operation teams were called for help from neighboring provinces to supply relief aid to the areas.

He further noted that some 2,420 tents, 7,850 blankets, 1,155 moquettes, 303 sets of dishes, 27,683 bottles of water and 4,651 packages of food baskets and other items have been distributed in the impacted areas.

Flash floods following heavy rainfalls in many Iranian provinces caused huge damage to the country’s agriculture and roads infrastructures.
