'Following the information received about a large depot of narcotics, the police launched an operation,' said Brigadier-General Mohammad Qanbari.
General Qanbari said that 1,592 kg of opium, 171 kg of heroin and 13 kg of hashish were found in the operation.
He noted that four drug traffickers were killed and four others were arrested and their arms and explosives were seized.
Sistan and Baluchestan is located in the southeast of the country, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan.
