134 vessels carrying contraband caught: Cmdr

The 256 smugglers of commodities and foreign exchange were seized in the month of Bahman (Jan 21- Feb 19), border guard commander of Hormuzgan Province Colonel Ali-Asghar Khorramrouy told reporters here.

During the period, contraband worth 534 billion rials (around 11 million dollars) were also seized from the traffickers, the commander said.

Hormuzgan in south of Iran has five major border gates. Shahid Rajaei Port, located in this province, is one of the most important port cities in Hormuzgan and also the golden economic gate of Iran.
