“According to the latest statistics, the number of foreign tourists entering the East Azerbaijan since start of this year has been more than 493,000, which is shows significant increase compared to the figure registered in the corresponding period in the previous years,” Morteza Abdar said on Thursday.

He also reported an increase of 22 percent in the number of domestic tourists to East Azerbaijan this year, saying, 'In this area, we have witnessed the presence of 4,500,000 domestic tourists.”
