JCPOA must be preserved: Russian official

“The US seeks to keep the centers of conflicts in various parts of the world and the scores of billion dollars worth armament trade with Saudi Arabia is an outstanding evidence of Washington’s belligerent policies and a sign of its interest to make sure disputes prevailing over countries,” Ivashov said on Saturday.

On the second anniversary of the historic nuclear deal between Iran and world major powers known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Ivashov said, “The conclusion of JCPOA was a strategic move to promote international security that the world community is committed to preserve and prepare the conditions for its full implementation.”

“The JCPOA, within two years of its implementation, made the international stability and security better and had positive impact on the Middle East,” said the higher Russian military and public official.

“The more conflicts and disputes, the more armament sale by the US which reaps more benefit out of the military industries of the country,” said the retired Colonel-general, adding that “at the same time Tehran’s diplomacy rejected Washington’s excuse of creating conflicts.”

“Tehran has focused its diplomatic abilities on the framework of bringing stability and has cooperation with Russia in major issues including terrorism,” he said.
