
A meeting of the committee was headed by Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and attended by all major parties.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua were also present at the parliamentary meeting.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq talking to media said the committee was also given a briefing on the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia.
The opposition in the National Assembly had been demanding of the prime minister to personally inform parliament about the outcome of his recent visit to Saudi Arabia.
Media reports say that prime minister had visited Saudi Arabia with a purpose to play a conciliatory role in easing tensions between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan politicians, media and senior analysts have been advising the government to stay neutral in the whole crisis. Earlier the parliament had also passed a resolution asking the government to play a conciliatory role in Doha-Riyadh conflict.
