
Zahedian made the remarks in a Monday meeting with Russian Chief of the MIA General Administration for Drug Control, Police Major General Andrey I. Khrapov.
Rise in production of narcotic drugs in Afghanistan and smugglers’ activities was announced as major threats during the meeting.
Both sides stressed on encouraging Afghan officials in fighting against producing and smuggling illegal drugs.
The need to train anti-narcotics forces, taking advantage of advanced equipment in discovering drugs, and using sniffer dogs in larger scales were among topics discussed in the meeting.
The Iranian delegation headed by Zahedian arrived in Moscow on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation.
