Iranian judoka wins bronze medal in Baku

Alireza Khojasteh defeated an athlete from Kazakhstan to receive the bronze medal.

He had already defeated athletes from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia and lost the match to the Azerbaijani champion.

The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started on May 12 and will finish on May 22 in the Azerbaijani capital.

Representatives of some 54 countries sent teams to compete in 22 categories. The Iranian team consists of 280 athletes (127 men, and 31 women) and will compete in 20 sports fields.
