Iran, China to boost technological ties

During the meeting presided by the Deputy Head of NSFC, beside emphasizing the importance of joint cooperation and the necessity of boosting the two sides’ capabilities, some agreements, including inking a Memorandum of Understanding on supporting research plans, holding instructional workshops and researcher exchange in two moths, were reached.

The implementation plan of the cooperation would be designed after defining research priorities, support ceiling and the number of mutually-supported projects.

The Iranian side declared its backing for the post-doctorate Chinese researchers in Persian language and literature, biochemistry, pharmacology, biotechnology and other priority fields.

Meanwhile, some more meetings were also held with Sharif University of Technology and Amir Kabir University authorities in order to familiarize the Chinese delegation with research structure of Iranian universities.

The NSFC is an independent governmental organization which receives over 190,000 research proposals annually and fund a great part of research supports budget of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The organization also represents china at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis.
