
Addressing the opening ceremony of the event, Amir Azizi Head of the Asian Network for Safe Communities said the present conference is taking place as part of the Mashhad 2017 events.
According to Azizi, the secretariat of the conference has received 300 articles sent by domestic and foreign pundits.
These articles will be presented during the three-day event, he said.
'Some 15 specialist workshops are scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the conference,' he added.
Since 2016, Mashad Municipality has been in charge of the secretariat for the Asian Network for Safe Communities.
The International Safe Community is the subset of World Health Organization (WHO) and it aims at preventing urban accidents such as reducing the number of accidents, air pollution, etc.
'Mashad 2017' events officially started in Mashad, the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World, on Jan 24 at the Imam Reza (AS) shrine in the northeastern Iranian province.
