Iran, Azerbaijan sign joint statement on legal and judicial co-op

The statement focuses on legal and judicial cooperation based on previously signed MoUs between two countries and the continuation of rotary talks and bilateral cooperation in international rights issues and holding joint training meetings in children and women fields.

Iranian and Azeri judges and staff benefiting from advanced technologies and up-to-date knowledge in implementing justice is one of the articles of the signed statement.

Pourmohammadi pointed to citizenship rights issues, human rights cooperation, children’s rights, fighting terrorism, illegal drugs, money laundering, technical, training and research cooperation as interaction grounds between two countries.

Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy cooperation in extradition, prisoners swap and legal and judicial cooperation based on 3 MoUs signed previously.

Iranian justice minister arrived in Azerbaijan Republic on Thursday for an official two-day visit.

During the first day, he met President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev.

He is also scheduled to visit head of Azerbaijan Republic Supreme Court as well as the country’s prime minister and parliament speaker.
