Shia cleric assassinated in Pakistan

Allama Jawadi, the secretary general of the Pakistani Kashmir chapter of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), was shifted to hospital, after he and his wife were attacked yesterday by unidentified gunmen.

Occasionally, Shia clerics are targeted across Pakistan and Shia minority has regularly urged the government and military to take serious measures against such targeted killings.

Both Pakistan Sunni and Shia communities believe that enemies of strong unity and brotherhood between the two communities in Pakistan are behind such brutal attacks.
