“Pakistan has failed to meet the expectations Iran has regarding maintaining security in the common border areas with its neighbor,” Rezaei said on Saturday.
“A large number of thugs and outlaws who have committed wrongdoings in the Islamic Republic and have managed to flee the country, now have found refuge on the Pakistani soil,” he said, adding that they continue to cause security problems in border areas.
“We do not expect an Islamic nation like Pakistan to be indifferent,” he said.
“It is expected that Pakistan as an Islamic nation cooperate with Iran to control the common border areas,” the commander said.
It is not accepted that Pakistan to maintain just a loose control over the area, General Rezaei said.
“The Iranian people, especially those in Sistan-Baluchestan province, residing near the common borders with Pakistan, expect the government officials in the neighboring country to devise a plan for border control and do enough to create security and peace in the region,” he said.
