Min.: Iran missile test not in contradiction with JCPOA

Dehqan told reporters after weekly cabinet session, “Iran’s recent missile test is not at all in contradiction with the JCPOA and no will can influence it.”
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its defense programs in line with its goals.
He added, “As announced earlier, we will continue our programs with more speed and care. As far as defense development is concerned, we have no plan other than defending our goals and interests and will not allow anybody to interfere.”
As for the Persian Gulf joint war game, Dehqan said in post-Trump atmosphere governing the world the Persian Gulf southern littoral states are concerned over the future and are interested to stabilize their presence in the region and make their supporters trust. “These will not have any effect and the governments not relying on their nations’ will, will not be successful to follow any plan.”
As for prospect of Iran-Russia military cooperation in Syria, Dehqan said, “The kind of presence we have had in the fields of assistance, design and education since the beginning go on as before and have not been downgraded; however, what’s of importance are the field achievements, which have served as the new ground for political affairs and arrangement of talks among Syrian officials to decide their fate.”
The minister said the Astana talks were also on the basis that the armed groups and Syrian parties, influenced by the field achievements, decided to continue the talks.
Asked whether Iran had obtained any arms from Russia other than the S300 missiles, he said, “There has been no other thing so far.”
