ECOSOC Youth Forum underway at UN Headquarters in New York

The annual forum brings youth leaders from around the world to UN Headquarters in New York. It gives them the opportunity to engage with policy-makers and other youth delegates and representatives. This year, discussions will revolve around the theme “the role of youth in poverty eradication and promoting prosperity in a changing world.” The two-day event will also bring together the Young Leaders for Sustainable Development Goals.

The Economic and Social Council Youth Forum provides a platform for youth to engage in a dialogue with Member States and share ideas on innovation, collective action and solutions to global problems. It also addresses the concept of “shared prosperity”, which is at the core of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Forum is being held on 30-31 January 2017.
