
In a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Sarajevo, Mahmoud Heidari, Jafarovich said Bosnian Parliament favors further development of relations with Iran, hoping that in addition to political ties, commercial and economic relations would further improve.
Jafarovich also invited Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani, to visit the country, saying that Bosnia will strive for maintaining its relations with friendly countries such as Iran, besides its plan to join the European Union and NATO.
Iran’s envoy, for his part, said bilateral ties are at good level and Iran has been alongside Bosnia-Herzegovina since it gained independence and respected its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Strengthening communications with all Bosnian ethnic groups, including Serbs and Croats was among the objectives of the Iranian Embassy to the country.
Describing parliamentary relations as among the basic pillars of bilateral ties, he hoped that the two countries’ relations will further improve in light of support of their parliaments.
